OT: The science to help you move forward

Occupational Therapy is a holistic healthcare profession that aims to develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills that patients have trouble performing. Basically, anyone who is having trouble doing any of their daily tasks, or “occupations,” due to injury or disability can benefit from Occupational Therapy.

For example, a person who has suffered a stroke or who is coping with Parkinson’s may have trouble doing daily tasks in the same way they have conditioned themselves to do throughout their life. Occupational Therapists would work with them to re-learn tasks varying from buttoning their shirt to driving a car. Likewise, children who face obstacles in their development are ideal candidates to work with an Occupational Therapist in order to reach their age-appropriate milestones.
